Meet Aubrey Grinstead, LPC-A

Evolution of Self knows that life is full of challenges and complexities. We strive to meet the needs of our patients as they define them. We know that it can be difficult to open up to anyone and our goal is to help you feel welcome and supported as you face those challenges and complexities life presents.

My name is Aubrey Grinstead and I’m so glad you’ve found yourself here. I love living in the Greenville area and getting to serve our community as a psychotherapist. With almost a decade of experience serving in inpatient mental health facilities, substance use treatment centers, community mental health clinics, and the private practice setting, I have the ability to integrate several modalities of therapy to meet clients in the ways they need. Evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, paired with Spirituality and Somatic Techniques are some of the tools I use within sessions. Somatic approaches are used to increase body awareness and highlight the relationship between our mind, body, and behavior. Focusing on our mind-body connection is extremely effective in relieving symptoms of anxiety, depression, and emotional distress.

If you find yourself wanting to challenge limiting beliefs, deep-rooted fears that are holding you from your true potential, and live according to your values, you’ve come to the right place. My passion is working with men and women struggling with anxiety, depression, self-worth issues, attachment/relationship concerns and navigating significant life changes. I love working with mothers struggling to balance the responsibilities of parenthood and specifically the unique highs and lows motherhood brings, whether this is your first child or your fifthteenth! Having worked in many adolescent settings, I also find joy working with young adults (17+) beginning to plan for adulthood to increase confidence and independence for their next phase of life.

When I am not in the office, most of my time is spent with my husband, our two-year-old son, our large and loud extended family, and our pet boxer Blueberry. You may find us hiking Paris Mountain, walking the Swamp Rabbit Trail, swinging at the park, in the backyard watching football games, or eating our way through all of Greenville’s restaurants. Quiet mornings with a good book and a hot cup of coffee (which are very rare with a toddler) are when I feel most at peace. I love living in our city and having the ability to work with so many different types of people. I hope we get to meet soon so I can learn even more about you!
